A container is referred to as a class type data structure in computer sciencelanguage. It is also termed as an ADT (abstract data type) that consists of a collection of numerous different data types. The base size of these containers depends on the total number of data types it contains inside it. In simple language, it stores varieties of objects in an organized fashion following a particular accessing rule or method.
Cloud computing is one of the most recent technology or methodology that uses a network of remote servers to store, manage or process data, through and following the internet service protocols. This technique is very useful for almost any sort of online service that is provided to the users through the WWW (World Wide Web), for the users to have complete access to the information’s or data’s or objects, at any tie or from any place, without having to carry those objects with them everywhere.

In modern times, a new technique has been introduced that uses the container technology to store and process data onto the cloud servers. Container based virtualization, also known as Containerization is an operating system level method that allows the users to easily deploy and run distributed applications without having the need for them to launch a separate VM (virtual Machine) for each of the process or tasks. With this technique, several isolated systems can be accessed from a single control host machine.


In Containerization, the kernel of the operating system allows a multiple isolated user-space based instances to exist and run in a single work-space. Such work-spaces are called containers. The programs that are running inside a container are able to access only that particular container’s contents and devices that are assigned to the container, for that particular instance.


There are many software application’s available for properly utilizing this technique, without the users to have complications or errors. One of the such software is Docker. Docker is a software technology that provides container services, is designed and promoted by the company - Docker Inc. This software is available under the proprietary based Apache Licence 2.0 that is available for both the Windows and the Linux platforms, with the supports for both the 32bit and 64bit computer systems. The company is officially the rightful developer of the software application that has initially released their first product on 13th March of 2013, having the files available under the GitHub repository, written with the programming language “Go”.


Several software applications including Docker, chroot, and many more are providing container services which are being very helpful tot the users, who are working with cloud technologies, either for a company or on an individual level. This technique and software application products are literally making the users task way simpler and less time consuming, and a way more accurate and secured as compared to the previously used traditional manual methods.
