"Future of operating system is with Linux"
Linux operating system is developed and designed for all level of users, starting from basic computer users with no development knowledge to high-level programmers and developers.
1) Linux Mint – Linux mint is a evaluation overtime of the traditional linux version. This operating system features a traditional set of taskbar, system tray and menus that makes the uses accessibility easier. Several versions of Linux mint are available, some of them cinnamon, mate, KDE, and many more.
2) Ubuntu – Linux Ubuntu is the most popular used operating system by the regular desktop users. The user interface is similar to the traditional interface of Windows operating system, that the users feel comfortable working on. This operating system has been designed to be used by everyone, not depending on their profession.
3) Debian – The debian operating system has been in the market for quite a long time now. This operating system provides the base of several distributions of Linux operating systems including Ubuntu and mint. This operating system has been designed specially for the developers and programmers what high level of experience in the technical field and is not recommended for the regular desktop users.
4) Mageia – Mageia operating system belongs to the first generation of Linux operating systems. With time, several modifications have been done to this operating system in almost every field starting form user interface to the back end operating system kernel. It is one of the operating systems that the new users to the Linux environment should definitely try out. It has several major versions like KDE, gnome, XFCE and LXDE.
5) Fedora – Fedora Linux is almost suggested version of Linux family. It is one of the most familiar Linux names that comes up to the users mind while choosing a new version of Linux for their desktops. This version of Linux only ships the set of free software’s and installing a proprietary software is a bit tricky and complicated for the less experienced users. Fedora Linux can be considered as the next step or next level operating system of debian.
6) OpenSUSE – Opensuse is community-based free distribution of Linux operating system. This operating system is one of the most recommended operating system for the new users. It can be compared as an alternative to Linux mint, Linux mageia and Linux Ubuntu. This operating system is very easy to setup and use by the regular users and is also very stable in nature. The softening system has been in Linux market for quite a long time but may not be there in the coming future with the Linux family.
7) PC Linux OS – PC Linux OS is an another operating system that the new users must try. This operating system provides most of the features that are found in most of the long running Linux based operating systems and this is a very lightweight in terms of the user interface graphics. This operating system is backed by a monthly subscription of magazine and a very friendly and helpful community. PC Linux OS follows a rolling release model that reduces the users timely upgradations for the operating system and its related files.
8) Manjaro – Linux manjaro has been a completely surprising operating system based on Linux platform. It is based on the arch Linux and provides the front end entry point to the environment of Arch Linux. This operating system is a bit challenging to the new users. Just distribution of Linux is never considered the first choice for any new users to the Linux environment.
9) Arch – Arch Linux is one of the most typical and very high level version of Linux. It is possible to do almost anything in this operating system, starting from the basics to the advanced server side works. This operating system is never recommended for the new users as they don't have much knowledge about the Linux Kernel or the environment. This operating system provides the uses to build and upgrade your operating system the way you want it to be but to reach such a level, the users must have high level of knowledge and experience of using other Linux based operating systems. The documentation provided by the Arch community and Developers is an excellent one and almost everything is explained in details.
10) Puppy – Puppy Linux is designed to run directly from an USB pen drive or other removable media. This operating system has not been designed to be installed on the hard disc, but still it can be done very easily. This initiative of the developers is based on the mechanism of utilising the minimum of the graphics, as much as possible. Every useful software is built in the operating system so the users doesn't have to worry about installing them manually. The softening system is available to the users as a live CD medium.
These operating systems are designed to provide the user’s with flexibility and more options of customizations to the environment of the user interface.
